Springtime Inspiration!

As we move from winter's cold hold to spring's promise of renewal, this is a time for natural inspiration and embracing our own vitality. As we see buds and shoots appear, our bodies in tune with nature, naturally crave stretching, strength and new growth. This is a wonderful time to recommit to your fitness regime.

We are excited to offer you a new GYROKINESIS class on Thursdays at 11:30 am with our new certified GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS trainer Lauren Bastelli. We welcome Lauren to Sound Movement where she will be available on Thursdays for both personal training and our new Thursday 11:30 GYROKINESIS mat class. All are welcome!

GYROKINESIS is a unique full body movement method that borrows from Yoga, Tai Chi, gymnastics and dance. Flowing, rhythmic movement sequences and coordinated breathing energizes your entire body and stimulates the nervous system, while increasing range of motion, core strength and flexibility.

Class traditionally starts seated on small stools. A strong focus on mind body awareness is encouraged through simple breathing patterns that continue as you are guided through a series of gentle, fluid movements such as arching, curling, bending, twisting and spiraling. Movement sequences are designed to improve range of motion through spine and joint articulation and improve muscle tone, flexibility and coordination.

These same patterns are expanded upon in floor work where focus includes abdominals, hamstrings, hips and knees. A gentle, calming standing balance sequence closes class and is designed to leave you with an improved sense of lightness and well being.
